I’m reading this book “Mapping Human History” by Steve Olson. Due to the propensity of genes to recombine and mutate, we do not share meaningful blobs of our DNA with neanderthals or any other early humans, only that very local and fairly recent group in East Africa that went out from there and broadcast themselves to every continent in the world.
